It’s carnival time again!
With Trinidad Carnival and the barrage of tabanca-inducing photos and videos behind us, those of us who could not make it to Trinidad this year eagerly turn our attention to Bahamas Carnival.
With just three short months separating us from what is sure to be the epic return of the full Bahamas Carnival experience, we are anxious for some fêtes.
To get things started, Bahamas Masqueraders will host its costume launch tonight at Fusion Superplex on Gladstone Road.
The event, The Essence of Carnival, is being hailed in some quarters as the unofficial launch of the local carnival season.
Known for their stunning costume designs, Masqueraders designers are looking to outdo themselves this year.
So, what can you expect?
Bahamas Masqueraders Executive Krista Dean said you can expect to see something you’ve never seen before in The Bahamas.
“The show will be phenomenal … exciting! The costumes will be vibrant and beautiful.”
Bahamas Masqueraders is expected to launch four sections as has become its tradition.
The show starts at 9 p.m., but the pre-party kicks off at 7:30 p.m.
Masqueraders representatives say limited tickets are available at a cost of $50. The afterparty is at 1ER CRU.
Next week, Karnivalista will provide a full review of the costume launch. She will be keeping you in the know in the lead up to all the action as Bahamas Carnival 2023 unfolds.
