The Bahamas is back in Lake Garda, Italy for more world-class sailing.
Harbour Island’s Joshua Higgins arrived in Italy this week to begin training hard for the Laser Radial Youth World Championships, which commenced on Monday. The opening ceremony was held on Sunday.
Joshua faces stiff
competition among a fleet of 265 boats from 38 countries and has the challenge of unfamiliar lake sailing to contend with.
He had a tough day yesterday on the water in Garda. His ranking at the end of yesterday’s races qualify him through to the bronze fleet for the championship series, which begins tomorrow and ends on Saturday. There were six races in total.
“I’m gonna keep looking forward, learning and improving”, Higgins said
He feels honored to be representing his nation at this prestigious international event.
