The country’s newest talk show, JourneyTV, premieres on Our TV this coming Wednesday, August 5, 2020 at 6:30 p.m. It promises to bring you the most powerful, revealing and life-changing stories told by everyday people who have pushed past adversity to conquer life’s most challenging situations. These open and honest conversations will reveal stories of abuse, addiction, homelessness, infertility, grief and mental illness, while showing how survivors turned their pain into passion and ultimately their life’s work.
“JourneyTV’s goal is to give people a safe space and open platform to share their stories. We believe that by sharing our life’s journey, further healing and a different level of internal freedom can be achieved,” notes Earlene Cartwright, JourneyTV director and host in a press release. “This transparency also affords others, who are experiencing similar circumstances, the opportunity to know that they are not alone in their struggle, as most people think that they are when they are fighting hard battles. Seeing these examples of people who have overcome these challenges will bring hope and light to those that feel hopeless and promote healing and restoration throughout our community.”
JourneyTV’s vision is an extension of the Footprints blog, which was launched in June of 2019. Footprints invites guest bloggers to share their life stories online. These writers are then filtered into the show’s guest line-up.
“JourneyTV was birthed after having a sleepless night in December of 2019, because ‘purpose’ would not let me sleep,” said Cartwright. “That night, I was overwhelmed with ideas and visions of interviewing our guest bloggers on camera for a talk show. At about 2:00 a.m., I grabbed my cell phone and began typing out the plan for JourneyTV. The following day, this vision was shared with co-founder, Claudine Cartwright, then the research and set design began.
We partnered with Lifestyles Digital Media and started shooting exactly a month later. This resource for media had been established earlier in 2019, as Ethan Quant, owner of Lifestyles Digital Media, sponsored content for Footprints in September of 2019.
JourneyTV’s ultimate goal is to share life stories to give people hope and promote healing, while creating a platform for community connection and give back. During our community highlight on the show, non-profits that are making an impact in our community, are given the opportunity to share their platform. This brings more awareness to their organization and opens doors for more volunteers and sponsors. We also partner with The Crisis Center and FOAM, as community is the heart of our organization.
The JourneyTV team consists of Claudine Cartwright, assistant director; Ethan Quant, producer and Earlene Cartwright, director and host.
“We believe that our content is life-changing and that everyone watching will be inspired in some way,” noted Earlene Cartwright.
“If you are looking for real people with real stories that will inspire and bring hope to our community, JourneyTV is the show that you do not want to miss. Join us, starting this Wednesday and every Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. and Sunday at 5:30 p.m. during the month of August on Our TV channel 212 for riveting, real-life conversation.”
