Jury selected to hear attempted murder, attempted armed robbery case

A nine-member jury was yesterday selected to hear the attempted murder and attempted armed robbery case of Leonardo Wright.
Prosecutors allege that Wright shot Alexander Dean during an attempted holdup at Dean’s Building Supply Parkgate Road.
The incident allegedly took place on September 5, 2009.
Wright, who is on bail, has denied the charges at his trial before Justice Gregory Hilton.
Wright was initially represented by Public Defender Dorsey McPhee. However, Wright said he wanted a privately retained lawyer.
The matter was adjourned to Monday for Wright to get counsel.
Kenny Thompson and Royanne Forbes are the prosecutors.
