Just walk away

I suspect in every man’s life we get our heart broken by the fairer sex. For most of us, when we catch feelings we love so deeply and voraciously, that we tend to lose our heads when we are told to “hit the road, jack!” We have a major problem with gender violence in our country. One only has to pick up a newspaper to see the amount of reports happening with reference to domestic abuse against our women. The numbers of incidents are both staggering and wildly devastating.

For whatever reason, if a woman does not want to be a part of your life, you must accept this and move on. A woman’s desire to terminate a relationship does not give you the right to heap violence against her. Yes, it does hurt when this happens; however some of us tend to resort to violence and end up hurting someone that we believe we love dearly! In some dire cases this violence turns deadly just because you couldn’t just walk away.

There are a number of ways you can handle a potentially volatile situation. In a case like this, if you feel you are about to lose your temper, walk away fast! Even better, dig deep within and decide to seek help either through a friend or a professional because violence is never the answer.

Some men feel embarrassed to seek help from a trained professional, but when your mind needs repair your car often needs the same. When your car needs help on troubleshooting a mechanical issue, we are quick to head to the mechanic for a repair job. In all seriousness, the mind is no different. Take care of your mind! There is no shame in seeking help, it’s a lot better than spending your life behind bars because of a moment of anger.

Please, think about the lives that will be impacted once you cross the line, trust me it’s not worth it. Be mindful of the friends who encourage you to resort to violence, they mean you no good. If you are stupid enough to do it, you will end up in jail and they will be nowhere to be found. Losing your freedom for a moment of madness will destroy life and your loved ones around you. It is simply not worth it. In time, the hurt will go away and somewhere out there is that special woman waiting for you. There are many more fish in the sea, some will enter your life far beyond your expectations; but you will never meet them if you’re in jail. So, think very carefully and just walk away as fast as you can. I assure you, you will be a better man for it.

I leave you with this my friends, love does not hurt, it heals.
