Heathcliffe Kane put together a workmanlike performance to finish first overall at the 2019 Bahamas First Junior Golf Championships this past weekend at the Lyford Cay and Ocean Club golf courses.
Kane prevailed over a field of 25 juniors with a two-day score of 148, taking the title in this round of The Front 9 Junior Tour.
In the boys/girls 6-9 category, Patrick Mactaggart finished first and Kayleigh Rolle was second. In the girls 10-13 category, Nataija McPhee came out on top. In the boys 10-13 category, Aiden Gorospe was first, Rhan Miller finished second and Jackson Mactaggart came in third. In the girls 14-15 category, Tyesha Tynes was the winner. In the boys 14-15 category, Alex Dupuch finished first, Benjamin Knowles was second and Jaden Ward finished third. In the girls 16-18 category, A’Marie Smith was first, Nyah Singh finished second and Miranda Tucker was third. Finally, in the boys 16-18 category, Kane finished first, Judah Lloyd was second, and Clinton Bowleg came in third.
The Tournament Flag for the event, which goes to the junior golfer with the lowest score, also went to Kane.

The Front 9 tournaments provide junior golfers with a full tournament schedule and other opportunities to succeed in the first half of their golf lives. The tour has events at a number of courses in The Bahamas, including Abaco, Grand Bahama, Exuma and New Providence.
