A 56-year-old resident of New Providence, who tested positive for COVID-19, died last night, the Ministry of Health confirmed.
She is the eighth person to die of COVID-19 in The Bahamas.
“Investigations are being conducted into the details of this latest death,” the Ministry of Health said in a statement.
The patient had no history of travel.
There are now 41 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the country – 34 on New Providence, six on Grand Bahama and one on Bimini. Five people have recovered.
