Prosecutors yesterday offered no evidence against Prophet Julian Johnson, the man accused of intentionally defaming Commissioner of Police Paul Rolle in a Facebook livestream earlier this year.
Johnson’s trial was expected to begin before Magistrate Samuel McKinney on Wednesday.
However, no witnesses were present.
When the matter was called, ASP Clifford Daxon said the prosecution would not be offering any evidence in the matter.
McKinney told Johnson he was discharged because the prosecution had withdrawn the case.
Johnson could have faced a potential sentence of two years in prison if convicted.
