A 51-year-old accused of the statutory rape of a teenage girl was denied bail.
Prosecutors said Glenroy Lynes, 51, of East Street north, had unlawful sexual intercourse with a 13-year-old girl on July 10.
Lynes did not have to plead to the charge when he appeared before Deputy Chief Magistrate Andrew Forbes on Wednesday.
Prosecutors will send the case to the Supreme Court with the presentation of a voluntary bill of indictment on October 14.
Lynes will remain in custody, unless he’s given bail by a Supreme Court judge.
