A 44-year-old man accused of sex with a teenage boy was yesterday granted $6,000 bail
Prosecutors say Marlin Newton, of Pinedale Road, molested the 17-year-old on August 19.
Newton, who is represented by Tai Pinder-Mackey, was not required to enter a plea when he appeared before Chief Magistrate Joyann Ferguson-Pratt.
As a requirement of bail, Newton must report to the Wulff Road Police Station on Tuesdays before 6 p.m. and have no contact with his alleged victim.
He returns to court on October 9 for presentation of a voluntary bill of indictment.
Another accused sexual offender appeared in the same court yesterday.
Keith Sweeting Jr., 18, of White’s Addition, Kemp Road, faced two counts of unlawful sexual intercourse with an eight-year-old girl.
Prosecutors allege that Sweeting had unlawful sex with the child in December 2018 and August 2019.
Sweeting, who was represented by Cecil Hilton, was not required to plead to the charges.
He returns to court for the presentation of a voluntary bill of indictment on October 9.
