A man appeared in court on Tuesday accused of attempting to rape a nine-year-old girl.
Delvin Cooper, 29, of Cox Street, was remanded into custody by Chief Magistrate Joyann Ferguson-Pratt.
He faces charges of attempted unlawful sexual intercourse and causing harm.
Prosecutors allege that he injured the child when he attempted to rape her on January 20.
Cooper, who is represented by Bjorn Ferguson, did not have to enter pleas to the charges. Prosecutors intend to fast-track the matters to the Supreme Court by presenting a voluntary bill of indictment on April 22.
