Man charged with killing two people

A man is accused of shooting two people dead and wounding two others.

Braheem Charlton, 28, is the second suspect accused of the August 9 murder of Dino Brown and the attempted murder of Dennis Bowles.

The men were ambushed by gunmen who emerged from a grey SUV in front of a home off Marshall Road.

Charlton is also accused of killing Immigration Officer Laneisha Armbrister and trying to kill Drazen Dean.

Police said the occupants of a gray SUV opened fire on the Toyota Passo that Armbrister and Dean were in at an intersection in Victoria Gardens.

He was not required to enter a plea to the charges when he appeared before Chief Magistrate Joyann Ferguson-Pratt.

She remanded him to the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services until December 6. On that date, Charlton is expected to receive a voluntary bill of indictment that will fast-track his case to the Supreme Court for trial.

Charlton did not have a lawyer and Sergeant Samantha Miah prosecuted.
