Two men are behind bars after prosecutors say an armed robbery resulted in murder.
John Butterfield, 20, of Washington Street, is accused of the murder and armed robbery of Alfred Lightbourne Jr. on May 30,
Lightbourne, 35, also of Washington Street, was shot dead after Butterfield allegedly robbed him of $250.
Prosecutors say that Cabreo Cash, 19, of Washington Street, abetted Butterfield in the crimes.
Both men appeared before Chief Magistrate Joyann Ferguson-Pratt on Monday and were not required to enter pleas to the charges.
Prosecutors intend to fast-track the case to the Supreme Court by way of a voluntary bill of indictment on August 26.
They were both remanded to the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services as the magistrate lacks jurisdiction to consider bail for the offenses.
However, they can apply for bail before the Supreme Court.
Sergeant 3605 Samantha Miah prosecuted.
