A man was charged yesterday with the country’s 43rd murder.
Jared Albury, of Pinedale Road, is accused of fatally stabbing Stancell Todd on August 25 outside a business at Pinedale Road after a dispute.
Since the matter can only be tried before the Supreme Court, Albury was not required to enter a plea to the charge when he appeared before Chief Magistrate Joyann Ferguson-Pratt.
Ferguson-Pratt adjourned the matter to December 2 for the presentation of a voluntary bill of indictment.
Albury is represented by Bjorn Ferguson.
Also appearing in the same court was Rashild Johnson, who goes by the street name Shield.
He was charged with the attempted murder of Travino Seymour, which occurred on August 22.
Johnson was also charged with possession of a 9mm Taurus pistol on the same date.
Johnson, who is represented by Nathan Smith, was not required to enter pleas to the charges when he appeared in court.
He was remanded to prison and returns to court on December 2 for the presentation of a voluntary bill of indictment.
