A 20-year-old man accused of the statutory rape of a minor faced additional charges when he appeared before a magistrate yesterday.
Eric Arthur, of Bellshore Avenue Boulevard, was charged with unlawful sexual intercourse over claims that he had relations with a 15-year-old girl between June 1 and 12.
Prosecutors further alleged that Arthur fired at two people with a shotgun on June 26.
He was accused of possession of a firearm with the intent to endanger the lives of Donald Fisher and Storm McKinney in that incident. He was also accused of causing harm to Fisher.
Arthur did not enter pleas in any of the cases at his arraignment before Magistrate Samuel McKinney.
Arthur, on the advice of his lawyer Ian Cargill, chose a Supreme Court trial.
Prosecutors will send the cases to the Supreme Court on September 4, when Arthur is given a voluntary bill of indictment.
