A man who admitted to indecently assaulting a 10-year-old girl was yesterday sentenced to three years’ probation and ordered to pay his victim $4,000 in compensation.
Kirk Moss, 59, of Fox Hill, pleaded guilty to the reduced charge of indecent assault at his trial before Justice Guillimina Archer-Minns.
He had initially faced a charge of attempted unlawful sexual intercourse over the August 3, 2018 incident.
Prosecutors allege that a naked Moss accosted the child with the intention of raping her.
Moss could face a year in prison if he commits any offense during his probation, or if he fails to pay the compensation by May.
Moss’ initial court appearance caused some grief for a court clerk of the same name after people on social media circulated his photo along with news reports of the incident.
