A 28-year-old man, who owned up to a gun and drugs found in his home, was on Thursday jailed for 15 months.
Samuel Pennerman, of Bishop’s Way, was arrested on September 8 after officers executed a search warrant on his home.
The officers found a black and silver Taurus 9mm pistol with seven rounds of ammunition and six-and-a-half-ounces of marijuana.
Pennerman pleaded guilty to possession of an unlicensed firearm, ammunition and drug possession with intent to supply.
Deputy Chief Magistrate Andrew Forbes sentenced Pennerman to 15 months on the gun and ammunition charge.
He fined Pennerman $2,500 or six months in prison on the drug charge.
The sentences will run concurrently.
