Three men accused of robbing a man following a traffic accident were formally charged yesterday.
Prosecutors allege that Richard Spence, 40; Levio Braynen, 28; and Deontae Ferguson, 22, while armed with a knife, robbed Luder Petit-Frere of cash and other items with a combined value of $3,470 on August 27.
The men face the alternative charge of receiving.
They were not required to enter pleas to the charges when they appeared before Magistrate Samuel McKinney.
They return to court on October 4, when it is expected that the case will be fast-tracked to the Supreme Court for trial.
According to police, Petit-Frere was driving on Acklins Street in The Grove, when he accidentally ran into the back of the car the men were in.
The men pulled a knife on Petit-Frere, took him to his home on nearby Newbold Street and helped themselves to his belongings.
