Men on bail charged with another murder

Police on Friday charged two men on bail for murder with the August 6 murder of Ayundo “Baby Souls” Louis, 21.
Ramero Rolle, 23, of Quarry Mission Road, and Marvin Augustine, 22, of Dean Street, were not required to enter a plea to the charge when they appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Subusola Swain.
According to police, Louis was in the back of a home on Maxwell Lane when the occupants of a black car opened fire, killing him on the spot.
At the time of his murder, Louis was wearing an ankle bracelet as a condition of bail for the February 3, 2018 murder of Okell Solomon Sr., 45, who was gunned down at Laird Street.
Likewise, Louis’ accused killers were also wearing ankle bracelets while on bail for the June 15, 2021 murder of Stervante “Lil Killer” Moss at Polhemus Street.
Rolle and Augustine claimed they had alibis. Nonetheless, they were remanded to prison since the magistrate lacked jurisdiction to consider bail.
However, they can apply for bail in the Supreme Court.
Prosecutors intend to fast-track the most recent murder case to the Supreme Court by presenting a voluntary bill of indictment on November 29.
