Nolle in rape case after alleged victim died

Prosecutors yesterday discontinued their case against a man accused of raping a 65-year-old woman during a burglary in 2020.

Thorne “Shadow” Cooper, 28, was charged with the July 24, 2020 incident.

However, the alleged victim in the case has since died.

As a result, Acting DPP Franklyn Williams issued a nolle prosequi, bringing the matter to an end.

Cooper was in prison since his arrest in 2020.

Miranda Adderley represented Cooper and Timothy Bailey presented the nolle on behalf of the DPP.
