Overtime Sports makes donation to Centreville Primary

In a collaboration between Sherline Moss, physical education teacher at Centreville Primary School, and Director of Overtime Sports Ricardo Demeritte, the school received much-needed sports equipment this week.

In 2019, Coach Moss organized an in-school raffle to raise funds for team uniforms and equipment. Using the remainder of the funds, the school, along with a donation from Demeritte, received 54 news balls – 18 basketballs, 18 volleyballs and 18 soccer balls.

Demeritte expressed how it was a no-brainer to support the school.

“It’s always a joy to give back directly to the youth. Overtime’s mission is to promote and assist in sports development throughout the Caribbean through its main service of wholesale distribution of sporting equipment. Having more equipment means that classes could be conducted with greater efficiency, due to the kids having more time to use the equipment,” he said.

An extremely grateful Coach Moss explained how necessary the equipment is.

“A lot of the balls we have are worn down,” Moss said. “Throughout the year, I find myself having to teach

basketball with soccer balls. It’s a sigh of relief to have these new balls. I was hoping to have raised enough funds to purchase 30 each but this donation was much better. I’m so thankful that Overtime Sports decided to do this. To have purchased this quantity of items, it would have cost the school close to $1,500. Mr. Demeritte made this possible with much less and we are thankful.”

Overtime is a sports network built for today’s generation of athletes and fans.
