The Embassy of Cuba joins the family of The Nassau Guardian in mourning and paying tribute to the life and work of Ana Lord.
She was a friend of the Embassy of Cuba since it was stablished here in Nassau. She was instrumental in opening for Cuba the waves of Guardian Talk Radio.
It was part of her compromise with her birth country.
Ana left Cuba as a young girl, but kept her roots and her memories close to her heart.
During all these years, she was a strong supporter of the links between The Nassau Guardian and the Embassy of Cuba.
Ana now departs from this beautiful country that she made her own, but will remain in our minds and hearts until we meet again.
On behalf of the Embassy of Cuba and the Cuban Community in The Bahamas, I express our condolences to her loved ones and The Guardian family.
May she rest in peace.
