Plane crashes in waters off Eleuthera

A plane crashed in waters of North Eleuthera shortly after 11 a.m. yesterday after “experiencing engine difficulties,” according to the Air Accident Investigation Department (AAID).

AAID said the flight had left Stuart, Florida, and was on its way to San Juan, Puerto Rico.

The pilot of the Cessna N50DH aircraft was rescued by the U.S. Coast Guard shortly after the incident, authorities reported.

AAID said the pilot, who was the sole occupant, was in “stable condition”.
