PM: Govt will stop male sex beasts

Prime Minister Dr. Hubert Minnis yesterday promised that his government will eliminate the practice of women engaging in sexual favors in exchange for promotions in the workplace.

Minnis said the government will do all it can to ensure that gender-based violence in The Bahamas decreases.

He made the comments after Minister of Social Services Frankie Campbell highlighted the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, which took place on Monday.

“We want to reassure them that the government will do all it can to ensure that violence in the workplace and violence in the homes generally decrease,” said Minnis in the House of Assembly, as he began his contribution to the debate of the Electricity Rate Reduction Bond Bill, 2019.

“And as far as women having to engage in sexual favors for advancement in the workplace, Mr. Speaker, we will eradicate that and ensure that those male beasts are placed where they rightfully deserve.”
