Police charge suspects in separate murders

Police have charged suspects in two different murders that happened last month.

Prosecutors allege that Dandray Bethel, 20, is responsible for the September 29 murder of Renardo Brennen, who was gunned down while walking along Windsor Lane.

Bethel did not have to enter a plea to the murder charge when he appeared before Assistant Chief Magistrate Subusola Swain and she denied him bail.

Keno Janvier, 19, of Quarry Mission Road, appeared before Chief Magistrate Joyann Ferguson-Pratt charged with the September 19 shooting death of Walter Johnson at Milton Street.

He, too, was remanded to prison.

Prosecutors intend to fast-track both cases to the Supreme Court for the presentation of a voluntary bill of indictment.
