Police reserve officers are not allowed to carry guns home, according to National Security Minister Marvin Dames.
His comments came as Deputy Police Commissioner Paul Rolle confirmed to The Nassau Guardian an investigation into a shooting with a police-issued gun at a reserve constable’s home during a domestic dispute.
The September 17 shooting at Sandilands Village Road allegedly arose from a dispute with the officer’s daughter and the father of her two children.
A woman, who had accompanied the father to the apartment, was shot in the upper back when the officer allegedly opened fire during the row.
The injured woman is out of hospital.
