Three Bahamian men caught with $3 million worth of suspected marijuana

Three Bahamian men were arrested after they were caught on board a go-fast boat in the southern Bahamas with $3 million worth of suspected marijuana, Superintendent Audley Peters said yesterday.
Peters said the United States (US) Coast Guard spotted the boat on Wednesday and alerted authorities.
As a result, officers from the Drug Enforcement Unit, the US Drug Enforcement Administration and the Royal Bahamas Police Force’s marine support unit mounted a joint operation.
Around 5 p.m., the marine support unit intercepted and boarded the boat, Peters said.
A search revealed 53 white crocus sack bags and 55 brown packages containing suspected marijuana.
Peters said three Bahamian men, ages 63, 52, and 41, were arrested.
