Three men charged in separate murders

Homicide detectives on Thursday charged three men with separate murders.

Prosecutors allege Janel Charles, otherwise known as “Fat Boy,” is responsible for the June 30 murder of Gregory Taylor and attempted murder of Deanza Edgecombe.

Charles, of 48 A Pinedale, is alleged to be the gunman who shot Taylor dead as he stood outside a bar on Washington Street and Robinson Road. Edgecombe was also a victim in that incident.

Charles was not required to enter pleas to the charges when he appeared before Assistant Chief Magistrate Subusola Swain.

He was denied bail and he returns to court on October 18.

Demetrius Brown, also known as “Frowsy”, appeared before Magistrate Algernon Allen Jr. charged with the June 19 murder of Keishon Bethel.

Bethel died in hospital after he was shot on Nassau Street.

His accused killer was denied bail and his next court date is September 22.

Additionally, Jeremy Thompson, whose street name is “Donkey”, is accused of the July 3 shooting death of Rolin “Popo” Alexis at Delaporte.

Thompson , 23, of Comfort Street and Sea Breeze Drive, was not required to enter a plea to the murder charge when he appeared before Chief Magistrate Joyann Ferguson-Pratt.

He was denied bail and he returns to court in November.
