A judge has set an April 2020 trial date for a jet ski operator accused of the rape of a Canadian tourist, although prosecutors have been unable to locate the alleged victim.
Prosecutors say Cleveland Musgrove, 25, of Kemp Road, raped the 26-year-old at a cay off Paradise Island after she rented the watercraft.
Musgrove appeared before Justice Bernard Turner for a status hearing yesterday.
His lawyer Bjorn Ferguson asked if the complainant had been located since Musgrove’s last court appearance.
However, Algernon Allen Jr. said that he was unaware of the failed attempts to locate the alleged victim as this information was not written on the file by the lawyers who had previously appeared on the case.
Turner scheduled a trial date and said the prosecution would have to determine its position at that time.
