Tribute to Denis Knight

Dear Editor,

D – Dedicated.

E – Extra effort.

N – Never-ending patience.

I – Intense attention to detail.

S – Sensitive and self-sacrificing

As an architectural student in the early 80s at The College of The Bahamas under the able leaderships of Amos Ferguson, it was required that all students do art courses.

It was in the Art Department that I met Denis Knight, who worked well as a team along with Stanley Burnside as an art lecturer.

I never met a man who was so immensely patient and knowledgeable about his ceramic craft. It is at this time that I wish healing and comfort to the Knight family.

Denis Knight spent 92 glorious years on this side of heaven.

May his soul rest in perpetual peace until he meets his master in the glorious bye and bye. Rest on my friend.

I will see you in heaven some sweet day.

– Loxsley Lonford Bastian
