A 37-year-old mother and two men were charged yesterday with last week’s armed robbery at Coca Cola.
Prosecutors say Matina McKenzie, 37, of Pinecrest Drive, Pinewood Gardens; her boyfriend, Ashley Minnis, 29, of Pinewood Gardens; and Letero Pyfrom, 25, of Montell Heights, while armed with a .380 pistol, robbed Derrick Hepburn of $544.90, the property of Coca-Cola, on July 16.
They faced an alternative charge of receiving when they appeared before the chief magistrate.
They were not required to enter pleas to the charges and denied bail. They return to court on November 4.
Attorney Ian Cargill, who represents all three accused, said that he intended to seek emergency bail for McKenzie, because her infant only drinks breast milk.
The magistrate directed police to allow McKenzie to extract sufficient milk for the child’s needs.
