Twenty-five migrants, mostly Chinese nationals, caught in GB and Bimini
Police and immigration officers apprehended 25 illegal migrants in Grand Bahama and Bimini on Monday in separate incidents.
The migrants included 24 Chinese nationals and a Dominican man.
In the first incident, officers on Grand Bahama arrested 14 Chinese nationals, 12 men and two women, and a Dominican man, near Princess Isles.
In the second incident, officers on Bimini found 10 Chinese nationals in an abandoned stone structure in the Port Royal canal.
Officers also arrested a 41-year-old Bahamian man and a 48-year-old Haitian man near a business in the Freeport Harbour.
“The immigrants and the Bahamian man were handed over to the Bahamas Department of Immigration for further processing,” police said.
