Two cases nolled

Prosecutors have discontinued a murder and attempted murder case that was pending for 16 years.

Rashad Sullivan, who’s also known as Mikey, was accused of the February 23, 2006 murder of Samuel Bethel and the attempted murder of Biondi Black.

Acting Director of Public Prosecutions Franklyn Williams formally discontinued proceedings against Sullivan by issuing a nolle prosequi yesterday.

However, Sullivan remains on bail as he awaits a retrial on allegations that he conspired to murder Dario “China” Knowles between November 1 and November 25, 2012.

Sullivan is in a wheelchair while he recovers from injuries received in a shooting on March 30, 2022.

Meanwhile, another case ended with the issuing of a nolle prosequi.

Prison officer Brightmon Bain will no longer be tried for the rape of a woman on April 9, 2018.
