Two killed in weekend traffic fatalities

A 59-year-old woman of New Providence was killed in a car crash shortly after 1 a.m. on Saturday, police said.

Reports indicate that the woman, who had two female passengers, was driving a white Nissan March east along Prince Charles Drive when she lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a parked breakfast van.

The two passengers sustained serious injuries and were taken to hospital, via EMS, where their conditions are presently unknown.

Police are also investigating a traffic accident which resulted in the death of a 39-year-old man on Grand Bahama shortly before midnight on Saturday.

The victim, police said, was attempting to cross the street when he was struck by a gray 2016 Chrysler 200 which was traveling east along Queens Highway, Eight Mile Rock.

Investigations into both incidents are ongoing and police advise the public to drive with caution as the holiday season approaches.
