Two murdered in separate incidents

Two men were murdered in separate incidents in New Providence over the weekend, police reported.

Police said officers were alerted to an incident on Sierra Leone Avenue, Flamingo Gardens, which took place shortly before 9 p.m. on Friday.

When they arrived on the scene, they found a man lying in the street suffering from gunshots wounds. Emergency medical services pronounced the man dead on the scene.

The initial investigation revealed that the man was having a conversation with another person in a vehicle when they were approached by another vehicle, according to police. A male passenger exited the vehicle and opened fire on the man, who was shot several times, police said.

The second incident occurred shortly before 4 a.m. on Saturday.

Officers were called to a residence on White Fin Tuna Road, off Carmichael Road, to respond to a stabbing incident.

When they arrived, they were directed to the front room of the residence where they found a man lying on the floor with stab wounds, police reported. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Police said investigations revealed that a man and woman were involved in an argument which resulted in the woman allegedly stabbing the man with a sharp object.

The woman is in custody, according to police.
