Valencia College will be awarding scholarships for students of the Bahamas Technical and Vocational Institute (BTVI) who were impacted by Hurricane Dorian and wish to study in the United States for the spring 2020 semester.
Representatives from Valencia College, located in Orlando, Florida, recently made a presentation to BTVI students during which they discussed the scholarship that will cover full tuition and fee waivers for one academic year, up to 30 credits. The waiver is renewable for each subsequent term provided students maintain a minimum grade point average of 2.0.
BTVI saw 70 students from Grand Bahama and Abaco transfer or enroll in BTVI New Providence for the first time since Hurricane Dorian in September.
Additionally, BTVI and Valencia College recently signed an articulation agreement that will allow BTVI’s business and information technology associate of applied science degree graduates to matriculate directly into Valencia College’s Bachelor’s degree programs, beginning August 2020.
