Dr. Katrice Maycock was killed in a traffic accident that took place on Abaco over the weekend.
A relative confirmed her identity to The Nassau Guardian. According to the Public Hospitals Authority, Dr. Maycock worked at the Rand Memorial Hospital in Freeport, Grand Bahama.
Police said that shortly after 1 a.m. on Sunday, officers were called to a traffic accident on Don McKay Boulevard involving a Toyota Passo and a silver Jaguar.
“Further investigation revealed that both vehicles were traveling on Don McKay Boulevard when a head on collision occurred,” police said.
“Both vehicles received extensive damage and both drivers and passenger received injuries.”
All of the people involved were taken to the Marsh Harbour Health Centre. Both drivers were treated for non-life threatening injuries. However, Dr. Maycock, who was a passenger in the Toyota Passo, succumbed to her injuries.
