Police are investigating an alleged drowning which occurred in Long Island on Thursday.
According to reports, a woman’s body was discovered in a pond off Queen’s Highway, Burnt Ground, around 4 p.m. that day.
Police said the victim was examined by a local doctor. She was pronounced dead on the scene. It is unclear how long the body had been in the water.
Foul play is not suspected, but police said an autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cause of death.
