Women accused of setting up an armed robbery at liquor business

Two women accused of setting up an armed robbery at 700 Wines and Spirits have been committed to stand trial on a charge of conspiracy to commit armed robbery.

Prosecutors allege that Evena Belton, 39, and Latoya Wallace, 37, arranged the August 30, 2021 hold-up at the liquor store’s John F. Kennedy Drive location.

Belton and Wallace received the statements of the witnesses who will testify at their Supreme Court trial when they appeared before Magistrate Samuel McKinney Wednesday.

They are scheduled to appear before Senior Justice Bernard Turner for arraignment on October 21.
