Youth flag football teams head to Tampa

The Bahamas Youth Flag Football League sent three teams to compete in the Flag Football Nationals this weekend, which will be hosted in Tampa, Florida.

The teams left for Tampa yesterday and are set to take the field today.

“We are so happy to be sending youth flag football teams to nationals for the very first time in our history,” said Jayson Clarke, league president.

“We have 9U (9 and under), 10U and 15U teams competing this weekend in Tampa and they have been preparing for the last two months.

“There will be over 170 teams competing at the nationals and I expect our coaches and players to get a good idea of where our program ranks in the Youth Flag Football Arena. Our young players and coaches are really looking forward to this event.”

Michael Moss is the head coach of the 9U team. Reginald Munroe and Marcel Dolce are the head coaches of the 10U and 15U teams respectively. The teams will return on Monday, January 20.
